RD&I Information Society

Technological innovation and development are a priority in Cantabria. This context unites activities in the field of technological development and the information society, reinforced by an ambitious programme of incentives and support to foster RD&I activity, initiatives which are all set within the framework of the 2006-2010 Regional RD&I Plan.

Strategy in the field of Technological Development combines measures aimed at Cantabria's industrial network as a whole with specific activities aimed at meeting the needs of companies in the field of innovation and coordinating a technological offering.

Alongside the important research centres of the main companies located in Cantabria, there is an interesting public contribution led by the University of Cantabria, the Components Technology Centre and the Logistics Technology Centre, acting as support for the vehicle components industry.

The prestigious University of Cantabria is among the most important universities in Spain in the field of R&D and an ideal place for training highly qualified personnel.

With 36 official qualifications, 37 doctoral programmes (13 with acknowledgements of quality from the Ministry of Education and Science) and 52 postgraduate courses, a wide range of options are offered which are complemented, in many cases, by work experience programmes at the region's companies.
